In the morning, explore Hoi An on foot to discover the charming, old-world trading port of narrow streets and traditional houses. In the afternoon, drive through Danang and climb over the Pass of Ocean Clouds to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before visiting the Cham Museum, which contains the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world. Hue is the centre of Vietnam's culinary world. After visiting a fresh food market, learn some traditional Hue dishes with culinary artisan Mrs Nhu at her home. From here cycle through the old city to Tinh Tam Lake where there are many local-style coffee shops around the lake. End your tour at Dong Ba Market with stalls teeming with colour. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Saigon. This afternoon, take a walking tour of vibrant Saigon, taking in the landmarks and hidden charm of the city, with the chance to meet some local characters of the city as you go. After having experienced the frenzy of Saigon by day, discover the lively local streets by night, sampling local delicacies on a street food tour. (B)(D)
Head for the Mekong today for an in-depth experience around the Ben Tre area. See local industries including coconut and mat weaving family workshops. Meet Uncle Tam Nhu at his orchard and enjoy some fresh bites of fruit. Board a sampan and ride through the labyrinth of canals before heading to Mrs Mai's for lucnh, where you can also kayak, cycle the village or relax before returning to Saigon. (B)(L)(D)
