Itinerary

Day 1: Bergen

The ship departs from Bergen, the cultural gateway to the fjords. Meet your fellow passengers and enjoy the relaxed ambience of life on board as you take in the spectacular landscapes. (D)

Day 2: Floro – Molde

Arrive early at Alesund and go ashore to explore this pretty Art Nouveau town. Departures between 1 Jun - 31 Aug will also sail into the stunning Geirangerfjord – a UNESCO Heritage site. (BLD)

Day 3: Kristiansund – Rorvik

Head north to the medieval city of Trondheim, whose colourful history is reflected in its handsome civic architecture. Take an optional excursion to the medieval Nidaros Cathedral or the enthralling Ringve Music Museum before setting sail towards the land of the Midnight Sun. (BLD)

Day 4: Bronnoysund – Svolvaer

Cross the Arctic Circle and continue north to the modern town of Bodo. From here, you can choose to join the optional Saltstraumen Safari (at an additional cost) to experience the world’s strongest maelstrom. As evening approaches, the ship heads through the glorious Lofoten Islands to their capital, Svolvaer.  (BLD)

Day 5: Stokmarknes – Skjervoy

Spend a relaxing morning at sea before arriving in Tromso, the capital of Arctic Norway. Modern shops and cafes provide a contrast to the stunning stained glass of the Arctic Cathedral, and the Polar Museum and Polaria Centre offer a fascinating insight into Arctic life over the centuries. (BLD)

Day 6: Oksfjord – Berlevag

Make an early stop at Hammerfest and continue to Honningsvag, the portal to the spectacular North Cape. (BLD)

Day 7: Batsfjord – Kirkenes - Berlevag

The vistas and sea life become more dramatic as you approach Kirkenes, located just a few kilometres from the Russian border and the Sami communities of Northern Finland. Bid farewell to the northbound passengers and welcome those joining the southbound voyage. The ports visited at night on the northward journey are now seen by day on the trip south. Each season has its own unique beauty on the Norwegian coast, as spring and summer flowers give way to the red hues of autumn and glaciers reflect the dazzling rays of the sun. (BLD)

Day 8: Mehamn – Tromso

Stop at Hammerfest, the world’s most northerly town, before the ship continues to Tromso, where you have the chance to witness an unforgettable midnight concert at the Arctic Cathedral. (BLD)

Day 9: Tromso – Stamsund

The ship negotiates an intricate network of isles and inlets as you pass through the legendary Lofoten Islands, one of the most beautiful stretches of the Norwegian coastline. You have the option of making an overland excursion from Harstad to Sortland (at an additional cost), where you rejoin the ship before experiencing the highlight of the voyage for many – a possible detour into the spectacular and dramatic Trollfjord. This remarkable day ends with an evening stop at Svolvaer before you bid farewell to the islands at Stamsund. (BLD)

Day 10: Bodo – Rorvik

Enter a world of legends and folklore as you cross the Arctic Circle and sail past the famed peaks of the Seven Sisters. You also have a chance to enjoy the award-winning maritime museum at Rorvik. (BLD)

Day 11: Trondheim – Alesund

Arrive early at Trondheim to explore the medieval city or visit the Nidaros Cathedral. The ship leaves the Trondheimsfjord and continues past Hitra Island, stopping briefly at Kristiansund and Molde before making a midnight call at Alesund. (BLD)

Day 12: Alesund – Bergen

The magnificent journey ends with your arrival in Bergen, where you say goodbye to the ship and ‘pa gjensyn’ (until we meet again) to your crew and fellow passengers. (BL)
