Our Horse Racing Tours have been running for over 30 years. Now retired race caller John Russell first escorted a group to the Darwin Cup in 1970. This then expanded to include Racing Tours to some of the most exciting events around the world including Royal Ascot, French Derby, Kentucky Derby, Hong Kong, South America and closer to home the Hobart and Launceston Cups. John still travels with these groups and shares his vast knowledge with many an enthusiast.
The Darwin Cup tour is always popular, running late July/early August each year, it is the perfect time to escape the southern winters and soak up the idyllic weather of the Northern Territory. The tour offers the perfect balance of racing, social events and leisure time. Darwin is alive at that time of year and Cup Day is a huge event. Our tour functions will include a fabulous racing themed dinner and we have seating and lunch in the VIP Marquee on Cup day, this will top off a fantastic weeks racing tour.
The annual Launceston Cup tour is a short break in February each year. This is “country racing” at its best. The Tasmanian Turf Club put together a wonderful event each year culminating in Launceston Cup Day where our tour guests enjoy a great day of racing in the comfort of the Corporate Marquee, this includes some superb Tassie food & wine.
Booking early for these tours is always recommended.
New for 2015 will be our USA Music tour, we have planned a fabulous itinerary which will travel part of the “Blues Highway 61” from Nashville to New Orleans, with the highlight being the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The escorts will be Sue & Terry Saville who visited this area in 2014, they will be hosting an “unforgettable bucket list trip of Music, Southern Food and Culture”. The small group experience will take in some unique music spots including BB Kings Blues Club and dinner at Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero Blues Club.
With all of our Group Touring options, we are flexible in adding additional time or travel options.
