italktravel Mitcham started as Pasadena Travel in 1969, operating from a private residence in the Adelaide suburb of Pasadena. The business grew rapidly by word of mouth and started specialising in organised school trips and escorted holidays to New Zealand and later expanding the destinations to cover Europe, America and Asia. 

We have continued to help people realise their dreams to travel to well known destinations as well as faraway exotic places such as Madagascar, Antarctica, the Amazon and to the top of the world, Mt Everest.

Now italktravel Mitcham, we continue to earn the respect of airlines and operators within the industry. The staff now has over 60 years of combined knowledge and personal experience in the travel industry.

Always conscious of our role in the community, italktravel Mitcham have been proud to be associated with local sporting groups such as golf, football, cricket, rugby and bowling clubs.

With the rapid demand in the cruise industry, italktravel Mitcham became one of the founding members of the Cruise Council of Australia as 'Pasadena Travel'.  Our staff have been fully trained and accredited by the Cruise Council with two achieving Ambassador status.

 Meet the Team

Garry Hegarty

I started in the travel industry in 1982, working as a junior consultant in an agency based in Kensington South Australia. 
In 1985 I joined a large city agency as an international consultant and group tour escort. In 1990 I started working at Pasadena Travel and became manager of the office in 1997. I then went on to buy the business in 1999, which is now known as italktravel Mitcham. 

I have travelled extensively through Asia, Europe, Africa and South America and escorted tour groups to Europe, South Pacific and Norfolk Island.

Recent travels have included South Africa, Dubai, Turkey, Egypt, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, USA and Eastern Canada. 

Amanda Nikitas

In 2013 Pasadena Travel (now italktravel Mitcham) gave me the opportunity to start my career and follow my passion of travel.
In this time I have travelled to many countries including Vietnam, China, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Recently I have travelled to Canada (Eastern and Western), USA, Croatia, Ireland, New Zealand and  South America. Ive been lucky enough to experience the Rocky Mountaineer, a helicopter flight over Niagara Falls, ice hockey in Canada and visiting Disneyland was definitely a highlight.
 

I have also cruised with Azamara and P&O and hope to do many more in the future. 

Glenys Mayer

I have been involved in the travel industry for 30 years, including positions in retail and wholesale travel; rail and airline reservations; and have also lived in Canada running my own accommodation business. 
My travels cover a diversity of experiences including a Kathmandu to London overland camping adventure; a luxury African wildlife safari; campervan around NZ, Canada/Alaska cruising; train journeys on The Ghan, Trans Siberian Railway and across Canada;  lazy days in Fiji, Hawaii & Jamaica; skiing in Australia, Canada & Japan; sailing odysseys in the Mediterranean and extensive travels throughout much of Australia, South East Asia, and Europe. 

Hard to pick a favourite destination although Italy, Turkey & Canada are up there.
